The rehabilitation program based on the community and partner of the Regional Committee for the rehabilitation of implementing a range of social activities, which aimed to educate the social community and specially school students about the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and also the strengthening and empowerment of persons with disabilities to advise them of their rights, also aimed some of the activities to increase communication between the families of persons with disabilities. And these activities have been implemented in the rural villages of west Bethlehem, Beit Fajar, Surif and Kharas.
In Surif two lectures were implemented on disability and rights for 41 students from the tenth grade in secondary school Farouk Secondary School for Girls on 5 May 2011 and 17 May 2011. Was to discuss and review the forms that dealt with a form of disability charity, medical, social and human rights. Exercise has also been asked to work each student to write their concerns on paper and then was the work of the agenda in order to sort the concerns of students to the rights or the desires and consequently it was found that persons with disabilities to the wishes of their hand and the rights do not differ from non-disabled persons. On 24 May 2011 was the implementation of the activity of a family for a family to increase the communication between the families of persons with disabilities in order to exchange experiences and support each other.
In Hussan, as of May 31, 2011 the activity has been implemented on the communication and advocacy to the families of persons with disabilities and others in youth sports club in the village of Husan, has been the implementation of the activity in collaboration with the community rehabilitation program in the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation, and which included activity 10 people with disabilities and without disabilities.
The other activity was a visit from family to family aimed to increase communication between these families and the exchange of experiences and information they have about disability rights and services available to persons with disabilities. And also on 19 May 2011 in the village of Beit Fajar been implemented awareness lecture on the difficulties of learning to the school of rock parameters meeting brought together seven teachers working in the school of rock with the elementary classes. In Kharas has been giving a lecture on the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for a group of parents of persons with disabilities and people of supporters of persons with disabilities. Was presented on 18 May 2011 through the crowd and official advocacy colleague Atallah Sheikha of community-based rehabilitation program in the Arab Society for Rehabilitation house.
The meeting was attended by 15 people, including 10 residents of Persons with Disabilities. On 22 May 2011 was the implementation of the activity of the family to the family through a self-supporting in the region of Kharas, which included the exchange of experiences between the families of persons with disabilities and also talk about how to deal with children with disabilities. But in Em Slmona and in collaboration with the Faculty of Community Health of the Medical Relief Foundation was given a lecture on early marriage for girls from seventh grade on 26 May 2011 have included lecture, panel discussions and presentation of meaningful stories.
According to Yasmin the next program that will include a series of summer camps that focus on the importance of integration of children with disabilities, devoid of many of the events and entertainment aimed at the participation of all institutions on local communities in areas that will be implemented by these camps. |
