Introduction:
Jadal center for culture and social development was established in 2001 through the initiative of a group of volunteers whose goal was to initiate and reinforce cultural and social development efforts. Jadal is one of the HWC institutions and its policy is derived from the original policies of the HWC.
This policy considers the social and cultural development an accumulative integrated comprehensive process, in which all the available resources (human, cultural and financial in Palestine), should be used. The set objectives to be achieved through the center take into consideration the cultural and historical characteristics of the Palestinian community.
Objectives:
1. Reinforcing the community cultural dialogue.
2. Reinforcing and promotion the progressive cultural components.
3. Encouraging creativity in arts.
4. Developing values and democracy in a practical manner
5. Reinforcing and awareness raising of voluntary values.
6. Reinforcing the cultural and progressive dialogue among youth and raising their awareness on their social role, as well as resisting the normalization projects and combating the negative impacts of globalization.
7. Reinforcing and promoting the progressive perception of women and supporting their struggle on all level.
Programs and activities:
1. Community awareness program: the program targets youth and aims at raising their awareness of cultural issues. Lectures workshops film screenings, cultural evenings, and are activities are arranged regularly t achieve this objective.
2. Training and developing skills program: the program aims at developing the skills of women and youth in the fields of painting, theatre, singing, and other skills related to the arts.
3. Art Cafe: the cafe provides space for cultural dialogue and social meetings and discussion for all forerunners of the center.
4. Voluntary Work and Summer Camps program: the program arranges a series of voluntary activities, in addition to organizing summer camps that include cultural activities.
5. Cultural Exchange Program: the program reinforces the local and international cultural exchange activities.
6. Publication: the center publishes various social and cultural studies that address vital and related issues to the Palestinian reality, especially for youth and women.
