Who we are? Woman's health program, consist one of the main health programs in Palestinian Territories , we believe that health is a social economic and political issue and above all a fundamental human right .Inequality , poverty , exploitation ,violence and injustices are at the root of ill-health and the deaths of poor and marginalized people. It needs to be emphasized that, investing in the development of women is a basic human right issue as they are half the human resources on this planet. Women’s health is often compromised not by lack of medical knowledge, but by infringements on women’s human rights. Women’s Health is one of the most important developmental indicatorswomen’s health is considered an essential indicator on the development of a society. It is also one of the criteria on equity in distributing the resources and social justice..The indicators of the developmental women’s health that are related to gender are declined. Woman's health program in brief: The woman’s health program in Health Work Committees started its work since 1990 in three locations. But within 13 years there has been expenditure in number of woman’s health clinics to become 22 centers and clinics distributed in the north, south and middle sectors of West Bank. The administration of woman’s health program is part of the main administrative structure of the Health Work Committee council. A team of well trained and specialized health providers work in this program that follow woman’s health guidelines and protocols. Overall Vision: All women in Palestine have the right to benefit from comprehensive health care all through her age periods from childhood-elderly. Program Mission: Empowerment and strengthening women’s role in the development, building of Palestinian community on the basis of justice and equity, through maintaining & securing the suitable social, political, and economical environment, that relies on the international and national charters and human rights. Woman’s health policies:
1- Consider woman's role in community development is very important. 2- Consider woman’s health one of the major issues of the H.W.C. policies. 3-Enroll the reproductive health services in the primary health care services. 4-All women have the right to benefit from counseling services that is based on the ideology of free choice. 5-Approve that health education is a central and important factor in strengthening & maintaining positive health behaviors. 6-Health care providers are well trained and specialized in their practice, capable of opening communication channels with the local communities. |
