The Israeli occupation state has continued committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza Strip by killing innocent civilians, as the world and the international human rights committees, specifically the ones for protecting civilians did not move an inch. Killing civilians was not enough for Israel, according to health authorities; Israel has gone to the extent of using internationally banned weapons, bombed schools, and pounded schools which were topped by the flag of the United Nations. We the Palestinian Health Organizations in the Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) emphasize that the occupation state violated article sixteen of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which stresses on the protection of civilians in time of war and the protection of the injured, the ill, the elderly, and the pregnant in time of war. Moreover, Israel also violated articles seventeen, eighteen, and twenty of the same Convention, which obliges the occupier to facilitate the movement of the injured to treatment facilities. It also prohibits attacks on hospitals, ambulances, and medical crews, and that is an article Israel did not commit to. Until this moment, 12 health crew members have been killed, 30 health professionals have been injured, 11 ambulances and 4 fire fighters have been destroyed. The killing, targeting, and terrorizing of health workers is done to impediment their humanitarian duties. We the Palestinian Non-Governmental Health Organizations call for the opening of all border crossings particularly Rafah Crossing, and facilitate movement of all transmissions of medicines, medical equipment and aid to civilians, as approved by twenty-third article of the Fourth Geneva Convention. During the continued aggression on Gaza which is under the promotion and protection of the United States in the United Nations, we call upon the state signatories of the Geneva Convention to compel Israel to abide to the Convention articles. We also urge the prosecution and punishment of those who planned and implemented the crimes against humanity in Gaza Strip as a war criminal.
