To mark the eighth annual anniversary of the Aqsa and independence Intifada, the Arab Palestinian masses made up of all its social classes and political views confirm their right to liberty, dignity, independence and the protection of their sanctities. 

 During the last 8 years the Israeli Occupation Forces killed 5,389 Palestinians in the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip as well as the 1948 territories; 194 of which are females and 995 minors. Out of those martyrs 492 civilians in their homes or residential areas were killed by bombardments on the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Also 746 Palestinians were targeted for assassination in addition to the killings of 233 civilians who were at the scene of the executions which were carried out by units of the occupation forces who accuse the innocent dead of military and political activities towards Zionist terrorism. Also, 135 ill Palestinians died on military checkpoints which number up to 630 at this given moment due to preventing them of movement and access of hospitals or health centers by the occupation forces.In a similar case to the occupations policies, and because of closures and sieges, there have been 70 cases of childbirth at the military checkpoints resulting in the death of 35 infants. 

 Regarding the wounded, the latest statistics show that 32,720 Palestinians were shot and injured by the occupation forces bullets out of which 3,530 now suffer permanent disabilities. Not to mention settlers who have repeatedly attacked Palestinians and their properties which resulted in the killing of 75 Palestinians out of whom were women and children, all of which was looked upon by the occupation forces who did not lift a finger to stop the barbaric attacks.

The Israeli imposed siege on the Gaza Strip has killed 220 ill Palestinians by preventing them from traveling abroad to receive medical treatment and by disallowing the entrance of medical supplies into the Strip.In the civil sector, about 40 health workers including doctors, nurses, and paramedics have been killed and hundreds of others injured by occupation forces not mentioning several recorded attacks on Palestinian health facilities.

 Regarding the education sector 664 school children were killed 3,602 were injured as well as 199 university students that were killed by the occupation forces and 1,245 wounded. Also, 37 teachers were killed and 55 others injured by the occupation forces.  On another note, 65,000 Palestinians have been jailed by the occupation forces 8,459  are still currently imprisoned 78 of them women prisoners and 4 of them are mothersIsraeli settlements have expanded by 30% after the Annapolis conference and the construction of Apartheid Wall was the cause of the destruction of 7, 9934 Palestinian homes.

The occupation has completed building 450 kilometers of the Apartheid Wall which confiscates 45% of the West Bank area and cuts it up into Bantustans and ghettos as well as human reservations. 

We at the Health Work Committees confirm a firm stance on the following:

1. Our full commitment towards the poor and marginalized masses in every way possible  and to be an enforcement of their steadfastness.

2. We call upon all political parties in the Palestinian arena to end the state of fragmentation on the national scene because the first and only beneficiaries are the Israeli occupation and global imperialism.

3. Start a serious national dialogue without preconditions to reach a unified strategy to promote national values and democracy on our own.

4. Remove the professional bodies and institutions from the cycle of political conflict because the only loser in this case is the poor citizen.

5. To not push the civil society institutions into the internal fighting.

6. To return to the Palestinian public so they say their word concerning the internal situation through holding of presidential and legislative elections according to full proportional representation on the basis of a comprehensive national consensus.

7. To expose Israeli practices against our people and institutions and to mobilize further popular and official international solidarity support with our rights in all forums and arenas.     

  Therefore, our message on this anniversary is to emphasize on the need to consolidate the Palestinian national movement and the rebuilding of the Palestine Liberation Organization on the ruins of the tragic reality of fragmentation of the current approach, and stop the senseless and destructive to negotiations and work to lift the criminal blockade of the Gaza Strip.
